This new service, which will operate on a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways will offer passengers four non-stop weekly flights to Prague, along with a variety of new travel options and connections via Prague to Central and Eastern Europe.

Using an Airbus A319 aircraft, the flights will depart from Abu Dhabi International Airport every Monday and Thursday at 09:50 local time (LT) to arrive in Prague at 14:15 LT, and every Sunday and Wednesday at 01:35 LT to arrive in Prague at 06:00 LT.  The new route will bring the number of destinations served at Abu Dhabi International Airport to over 85 destinations across more than 45 countries around the world.

Eng. Ahmad Al Haddabi, Chief Operating Officer at ADAC commented: “ADAC is pleased to welcome Czech Airlines into Abu Dhabi International Airport airlines’ portfolio, which is a direct result of its successful airline development strategy in attracting new airlines and expanding the airport’s network. This strategy relies mainly on the quality of services and facilities made available to all of the airport’s airlines through ADAC’s commitment to continuously upgrading the infrastructure of Abu Dhabi International Airport. Such dedication ensures that we deliver to all our airline partners and their passengers top of the line comprehensive services, from efficient and timely ground handling processes to smooth and easy check-in and immigration facilities.”

“We applaud this partnership between Etihad Airways and Czech Airlines as it paves the way for further development, improving the offer of choice and convenience to our clients, not only to Europe, but to our whole network.” Al Haddabi Added

Miroslav Dvořák, President of Czech Airlines, stated: “Thanks to the perfect harmonization of departure and arrival times at Abu Dhabi, destinations in the Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Asia and Australia have never been as accessible from Prague as they are now. We look forward to working with Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) on further developing our services to travelers from Abu Dhabi International Airport.”

"And thanks to a very close and fruitful cooperation with Etihad Airways enchanting city of Prague opens not only to point to point travelers from  Abu Dhabi but also to a numerous number of passengers travelling via Abu Dhabi from the wide network of destinations offered by Etihad Airways." Dvořák added.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways Chief Commercial Officer said: “We’re delighted to welcome the inaugural Czech Airlines codeshare flight into Abu Dhabi.  As the world’s leading airline, this new strategic relationship which includes but is not limited to just a codeshare agreement, illustrates Etihad’s growing ambitions in the Central and Eastern Europe region. It opens up the beautiful city of Prague that we have been eager to offer our guests for such a long time, and we are certain these new connections and the seamless flight experience offered jointly by Etihad and Czech Airlines, will appeal to both business and leisure travellers alike.”

Tickets for the new route can be purchased through both Czech Airlines and Etihad Airways, as the partnership between Czech Airlines and Etihad Airways allows both companies’ passengers to book and travel with just one ticket for their entire journey with a stopover in Abu Dhabi.
