Envoy Air will begin operating the Embraer E175 for American Airlines under the American Eagle brand on February 11, 2016.

The first flights will be in and out of Dallas/Ft. Worth to Little Rock, Northwest Arkansas Airport, Oklahoma City, Memphis, Des Moines, Corpus Christi, and Savannah.

"This is an important milestone for Envoy," said Pedro Fábregas, President and CEO. "The E175 is the future of our company, and I'm pleased to welcome the first of forty planes to our fleet."

Back in December 2014, Envoy’s pilot TA was passed which cleared the way for Envoy to order 40 E175s with options for 90 more. The 40 orders are expected to be delivered by the first quarter of 2017.

American is using Envoy’s E175s to replace some of the CRJ-900 flights out of DFW airport. The CRJ-900s it is replacing are moving to Phoenix.

Envoy took delivery of its first E175 on November 12, and it already has two on property. Until February 11, the aircraft will be used around DFW for training flight crews and employees.

Currently, Envoy operates 37 CRJ-700s, 40 ERJ-140s, and 89 ERJ-145s in its fleet. Envoy is going to be phasing out all of its 44 seat E140s by August 2016.

Envoy’s E175s have 12 seats in first class as well as 20 Main Cabin Extra seats and 44 regular economy seats.
