Escape with Wizz Air's low-fares to a hidden Hungarian hotspot

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost, low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe, celebrates its maiden flight between London-Luton and Debrecen (Hungary) today. This low-fare route will be operated three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Wizz Air is the only airline offering scheduled flights to/from Debrecen, the up-and-coming Hungarian city-break destination that is now accessible with low fares from the UK. Located in the Eastern part of the country, Debrecen is Hungary’s second largest city. The downtown area boasts a beautiful historical centre with typical Hungarian architecture and shops selling Hungarian delicacies.

Debrecen city is the busy hub of a region that is increasingly popular amongst tourists from Western Europe, in particular the UK. Discover delicious Hungarian wines, bathe in hot springs, and take a walk around the scenic Hortobagy Nemzeti Park, Hungary’s first National Park. The Debrecen region is also a much sought after medical tourism destination.

Wizz Air is one of the UK’s favorite airlines for travel to Central and Eastern Europe and already flies from London-Luton to 24 destinations in 12 countries. The airline celebrated 10 million passengers at London-Luton in April this year.

“Debrecen is a great place to visit and Wizz Air’s low fares and three flights per week will certainly add to the appeal of this destination. We urge nature lovers, foodies and bargain hunters to snap up one of our low fares to Debrecen at wizzair.com today”, - said Daniel De Carvalho, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air.
