Fair Airways 'airline' websites taken down
The websites of an unlicensed 'airline' which claims it has a base in the Somerset town of Taunton have been taken down.
Fair Airways advertised in Nepal and Bangladesh and asked potential staff to pay £75 up-front.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said it had never heard of the airline and trading standards is trying to identify the people behind it.
Fair Airways has not responded to any calls or emails from the BBC.
The company's main website has disappeared while its UK site has been suspended by the internet registrar following action by trading standards.
Fair Airways stated online that its flights to more than 36 countries would start on 1 November.
It directed potential cabin crew, ground and customer care staff to its Fair Academy website, which offered theory courses in India and Switzerland, and practical courses in the UK.
The site stated training registration costs £75, plus an optional £250 for food and accommodation if training in India.
