New subway connection at Lisbon Airport
The new subway stations Moscavide, Encarnação and Aeroporto are open from July 17th.
Extending the “red line”, the connection Oriente/Aeroporto, has 3.326 meters long and three new stations, and will receive an estimated average of more than 400,000 new passengers per month.
This service will have a significant impact on accessibility to Lisbon airport, thus providing an important interface for passengers and to thousands of people working in the area.
This new extension will also connect the town's administrative center to Lisbon airport, linking the multimodal transport system in Lisbon Area, the national transport services and trans-European connections. Through this new connection, the users will be able to travel between Saldanha and the airport in about 16 minutes.
