Turkish Airlines' cuisine named best in-flight food

A panel of international travelers has spoken and named Turkish Airlines' cuisine the best in-flight food, beating out 18 other airlines around the world. The survey, coordinated by flight comparison site Skyscanner, asked passengers to judge airline food based on presentation and taste.

Turkish Airlines menu, which includes such dishes as Turkish meatballs, stuffed eggplant, caprese salad, and walnut pear tart, took first place with a score of 86%.

On each flight, Turkish Airlines offers its passengers gourmet cuisine and rotating menu options. The airline also offers a range of special meals including children's, Kosher, vegetarian and seafood options. All meals are prepared with fresh ingredients and those served on extended range (transoceanic) flights are served to passengers via Flying Chefs who give professional support to the cabin crew during meal preparation.

In addition to providing restaurant-quality cuisine on all flights, Turkish Airlines also creates special in-flight menus for holidays and special occasions. Most recently, the airline offered a specially prepared array of decadent Valentine's Day treats and meals to passengers, complete with chocolates and cupcakes.

"We are honored to have been chosen as the winners of 'Best In-Flight Food' by Skyscanner," said Turkish Airlines President and CEO, Temel Kotil, Ph.D. "Our goal has always been to provide passengers with a luxurious experience in the skies, and we are proud to offer an assortment of savory gourmet options to all of our customers."
